First of all, congratulations for all your achievements at 6G Cups so far! Please give us a brief story of you & your team’s past!
GARCIA: Hello, thanks! Well, I’m in gaming “world” for a while now, started playing some CoD:UO, then changed to CoD2 which one I played the most attending multiple Portuguese LANs but never in Europe cause in Portugal back then the orgs never helped us to reach that step! Then I left CoD2 for CS:GO and here I am. This team haven’t got a past to be honest, when we joined Battalion we had a full Portuguese line up with one objective trying to get something outside frontiers but due to the current state of game people just left the game completely so we had to go international and get this 2 big german players helmzi and hustle to join me, TGB and kia.
Can you tell us how you got involved in B44 and why you chose to play this game?
GARCIA: Well like I said everything started with Call of Duty and I was waiting for a competitive game close to that for ages and Battalion if it goes well will be a huge esport. Basically it’s my last chance for competitive gaming.
What’s your favourite feature in Battalion 1944?
GARCIA: Maybe this new economy coming in the next MU2 patch will make the game more interesting.
What’s the main thing you would like to see changed regarding the game?
GARCIA: To be honest all I wanted the most to be fixed is already getting it on MU2 but it was the lean feature.
What’s your training regiment like?
GARCIA: Basically we play as much as we can, like scrims, spending some time in the server setting some strats. To be honest in the last few weeks we aren’t playing that much since most of us lost the motivation to play in the current patch but we are all hyped with this new update and hopefully we will be back at our huge perfomance.
Do you do any research about your opponents? How do you prepare for a match against them?
GARCIA: We don’t at all, we just try to play our own game and adapt to the enemy in game only. Besides at the moment there isn’t a way to research anything since we don’t have the demo feature yet.
Are there special routines you do prior to the start of tournaments?
GARCIA: Yes I do, mostly play arcades or aim map with the guys. They should add deathmatch to the game as well it would help on warming up.
How do you stay motivated to keep playing? Do you ever get bored of your game?
GARCIA: Yes I did. Pretty much only Gallantry event in Budapest kept me playing. Now I’m motivated to play the game again if this update really goes well.
Where can people find out more about you/your team?
GARCIA: I would like to say that I’m really proud of my boys kia, TGB, helmzi and hustle for what we’ve achieved so far and that a team is build with persistence, hard work and training and not quitting at the first obstacles. About the question, you can find more about me on my twitter account @garciabat44 and about my team at @6GAMiNG_B44 .
Is there anything else you’d like to share with the community?
GARCIA: Yes. I would like to ask people to support each other instead of growing big egos and start working more together, the more close we are as a community the better game experience we will have. Thanks for the interview and good luck to all who face us!
Thank you for taking time answering my questions. I wish you and your team all the best for the future, see you at Budapest.
